You asked for it….here they are. Iron Curtain Customs designed GALIL 74 barrel. The barrel is chambered in 5.45x39 and is 14.5” long. All barrels are press fit. The muzzle ends are threaded 1/2x28. This barrel is designed to be plug and play with our GALIL 74 trunnions. The barrel has been profiled to accept both the SAR and the ARM gas systems as well as fit the original front sight / gas block and hand guard retainer. In order to accommodate both gas systems the barrel gas port is not drilled. The gas port size is the same as a normal AKM/74 rifle as it is chambered for 5.45x39. The barrel journal has been extended to allow the use of a bushing/sleeve in conjunction with the rear hand guard retainer to ensure that the hand guard fit is tight. The barrels are made from 41V50 steel and are cold hammer forged. They have a 1:8 twist rate and the chamber is cut to SAAMI specifications.
These barrels along with our trunnions and Childers Guns Galil 74 receiver have opened up a new door to fans of the Galil and AKM platform. If you or your favorite shop can build an AKM, you or they can build a GALIL 74 as well.
